Free sugar consumption was measured in youngsters enrolled within the Barwon Toddler Research at age 18-months and 4-years. The publicity, free sugar consumption was quantified as steady and binary variables indicating lower than 5% of complete power consumption (TEI) at 18-months and 4-years of age. The authors concluded that between 18-months and 4-years, free sugar consumption elevated markedly with two thirds of kids exceeding 5% of TEI at 4-years of age. Early free sugar consumption will increase the danger of dental caries at 4-6-years of age.
